About Targol
Targol Hajjarian, born in 1991 in Tehran, Iran, is a renowned calligraphy artist now based in Michigan, United States. Influenced by traditional Persian poems, she launched her career in 2015. Targol studied Visual Art at the Faculty of Art and Architecture, Azad University of Tehran, and trained under the calligraphy master, Mr. Amadehrazm. Licensed by The Persian Calligraphers Society. Her work uniquely transforms Persian calligraphy into a visual language, with intertwined letters conveying profound meanings and beauty. Persian calligraphy is a contemporary approach to a traditional art form that dates back centuries. Persian calligraphy, known for its elegant, flowing script and intricate designs, has long been a significant cultural and artistic expression in Persian culture. This fusion of traditional calligraphy with modern materials like acrylic on canvas creates a unique artistic experience. The artworks often blend classic verses of Persian poetry or spiritual texts with abstract or contemporary backgrounds, resulting in pieces that are both visually striking and culturally resonant. This method allows artists to explore the beauty of Persian script while experimenting with color, texture, and composition in ways that traditional mediums might not allow.
